Elections: The difference between left wing and right wing

Political nonsense! This is what Albert Einstein actually said & I quote: “Private capital tends to become concentrated in few hands, partly because of competition among the capitalists, and partly because technological development and the increasing division of labor encourage the formation of larger units of production at the expense of smaller ones. The result of these developments is an oligarchy of private capital the enormous power of which cannot be effectively checked even by a democratically organized political society. This is true since the members of legislative bodies are selected by political parties, largely financed or otherwise influenced by private capitalists who, for all practical purposes, separate the electorate from the legislature. The consequence is that the representatives of the people do not in fact sufficiently protect the interests of the underprivileged sections of the population. Moreover, under existing conditions, private capitalists inevitably control, directly or indirectly, the main sources of information (press, radio, education). It is thus extremely difficult, and indeed in most cases quite impossible, for the individual citizen to come to objective conclusions and to make intelligent use of his political rights” – [ Why Socialism?, A. Einstein ] 51″

3 replies today
Sonbeams : “The real reason there is concentration of control is the central banking system that is owned by a few very wealthy families. They buy up all the resources and enslave the people with their counterfeit debt based irredeemable fiat currencies. They buy the politicians and foment war and the welfare state all the better to ensnare the people in their web of debt. Woe betide any nation that tries manage the currency on behalf of their people. They very soon become the target for regime change vide Iraq, Afghanistan and Libya. Iran is next. There can only be ONE ruler is their motto.”
strictlygenteel : “yes but, which cheese to choose? it's a tough one.”
MARTIN : “Socialism is possibly the worst form of government to choose because a big government allows big corporations to have more control of your lives, that why people like Warren Buffet support socialism. Limited government minimizes this risk, as the mega rich can compete competitively in a free market.”

“A dusty stone with residues of saltpetre and there you have a reason to talk of touring the world” he says over a coffee that takes 3 hours. He who has visited half of France on a bicycle and a bit of Germany. His journeying, he says, allowed him to further cultivate a sense of culture, and develop an avid interest in the cultures of others. He noticed that whilst I was next to the dusty stone. I was apprehensive that the dust would affect my singing
voice but that i found it was okay after all. My friend Paulo says he cultivates the ordinary but there is nothing ordinary about Paulo. If people ask him “who are you?” he replies ” I am the anonymous ordinary one, just passing to cultivate the ordinary! He often says, ‘it is by and large safer to be unknown and anonymous in this day and age where one could be arrested for saying the wrong thing on facebook’. He advises caution on letting people know your political views in public, but he likes to receive guests in his rusty rustic old farm house known as El Matoretto. He talks to his guests for hours about politics and poetry, “all governments are criminal and the feudal system never left us” he shouts! Je calls me his friend the rose and brings me milk from his cows, he is the gondolier of the shadows and the light in my video “Riverman” which is on you tube! His friends tease him and say “You’re not so anonymous now are you Paulo the gondolier !!!” And with that we all fall about laughing.

Samy Bishai and I were talking about the events in recent news regarding the eurozone crisis… A very long term plan to stockpile all of the world’s gold by the corporatocracy and the world banksters….
Surely, it’s a convenient coincidence that the sum total value of Italy’s gold reserves is as near as dammit equal to the amount of maturing debt Italy needs to pay off in order to stabilise economically.
It’s never been exactly clear who was pushing for the abolishment of the gold standard in the United States and the establishment of the Federal Reserve, but it is largely agreed upon that it is the oldest banks/banking families of Europe.
For the longest time it was the churches that were the focus of wealth. All the crusades and wars were only thinly disguised exercises in wealth accumulation masquerading as missions of enlightenment in the name of a higher deity. The convolution of the language and vocabulary of economics is no coincidence either, the over-complication of the concepts and principles at work (hedge funds, tracking funds, bonds, derivatives, gdp’s, etc…,) on every level from domestic and internal to macro-scale international economics serves only to blur the painfully obvious: which is that there isn’t a government in existence that isnt bankrupt…even those that are apparantly stable will be broke in a decade, if that.
The very banks that caused the economic crisis in the first place are ironically the thieving bastards that stand to gain the most out of it, as they are the very fuckers that will end up sitting on all the gold reserves that belonged to the governments that bailed them out….Conspiracy?
Think about it long and hard, folks…
Some of the best brains on the planet (maths geniuses and the like) work for the biggest banks… Now, surely it is impossibly unrealistic to think that the amalgamated intelligence at work failed to see the risk factors of the irresponsibility of their actions…That being the case, it’s equally unrealistic to see the stage that we are at within the unfolding of the big plan and fail to note the correlation.
Hypothesis: World War 2 was the turning point, in that it was officially the end of the age of empires.
Economically every country (apart from Switzerland) was brought to its knees. In the aftermath, a pan-European scarcity environment was established where all governments were forced to accrue monumental debt in order to rebuild their countries and economies.
Since then banks have been exponentially in the ascension, so looking at the last 60 years of it all , it all seems to be leading to one end result …the accumulation of all perceived true wealth: Gold.
So whereas in the feudal system of the middle ages, the churches and the aristocracy where the rulers and the holders of wealth, enjoying absolute ownership of everything and everyone, we have now come full circle: the power has shifted, in that the banks have replaced the old powers of the church, while corporations have replaced the aristocracy.
But the question is: Is it actually possible that all the banks of the world were simultaneously greedy and stupid to the point of such mindlessly stupid risk-taking with people’s money?
Or was it carefully orchestrated, a masterplan by the true keepers of power, the upper one percent?
The game is all coming to an end; we are down to playing it with negative money. Buying a country’s debt, monolithic amounts of non-existing, ever-expanding mythic sums of non-money, that somehow render the criminal private banks exponentially richer, leaving everyone else exponentially poorer, on a private and public scale of inevitable self-imploding social destruction.
Gamal Mubarak, the ex-president’s son, bought Egypt’s debt, then sat on it for a bit and sold it for a huge profit, at the expense of the country’s economy… which is what all of the banks are doing on a global scale, i.e Iceland, and now, the Eurozone… so how are the banks any less criminal than the Mubaraks? Iceland should have been a warning of things to come, the pebble heralding the impending financial avalanche… and the history we are living is evidence of that.
How can the governments of the world justify their position to the people whose collective interests are entrusted unto them?
Governments should not be forced to buy their own currency from banks, the very banks that require bailouts from said governments when they play Russian Roulette with people’s savings and lose,
and yet individuals are expected to be held accountable and culpable for their financial sins, all of which are exacerbated by the additional tax burden of footing the bill for the government’s bailout of the only fuckers who will make any money (NON-money) out of all this meaninglessness.
Whilst the rest of the world continues to accumulate market value in the form of infinitely accruing debt.
All of this is nonsense…. why are we the people allowing it? Society is being bankraped, as Max Keiser (of the Keiser Report on RT) says, speaking within the ideology of a monetary system.
Taking a step back from that ideology, it seems tragically evident that collectively as a species and a civilisation we are in fact mind raped by the most ultimately self-destructive, non-existent devil….of our own creation.

I see unrest in the streets of Egypt again, it’s like a *deja vu* of earlier this year, the same images of Tahrir square, the same violence perpetrated by the alleged keepers of peace …. and part of me is not surprised.
Trying to unseat decades of corruption that runs so deep through the very infrastructure of a country seems like an impossibly long struggle; the army are intertwined with the old regime and so its old ways prevail, and so nothing changes….

Then half-way around the world ordinary working people take to the streets to protest against the banks, the corporatocracy… This failing system is also corrupt to its very essence, and it’s clear: nothing is working for us.
My friend Peter Joseph of the Zeitgeist movement recently said to me in an email, “You know Natacha, we have an uphill battle of extreme proportions… and
even those in the Occupy Wall Street movement are in the very early stages of understanding the root flaws at work. It may take another level of social failure/deprivation for more people to see what is really at work here.”

I agree with him for the most part but I feel the Egyptian people are potentially further down the route leading to the clarification of the truth than most of Europe, and the West in general. That said, I do feel that the events worldwide are a signal, a beginning; a spark, perhaps, of an awakening…. and a spark is all we need to begin
change, as long as it may take, as long as it takes…

“Where the world is not split into a thousand fragments,
Under siege, forgotten, or Lost. There is a land where words are the purveyors of truth There shall we know unity and stand together as one.”

In response to recent Facebook posts and blogs, please let me say once and for all, whilst Wikipedia may have been a good idea to start with, it is hardly the gospel.
I am not responsible for all the (mis)information on it; my family linealogy, my childhood & upbringing, my parents’ backgrounds, various stages of my career, statements I have made in various interviews that have either been misquoted or decontextualised (wherein some statements might well be from interviews I did back in the 90s, and yet they are presented as current), aspects of my personal life which are inappropriately scrutinised (and misreported, to boot), my political, social, religious, spiritual views…apparently, all Wikipedia contributors are better informed than myself regarding all the above.
Whilst I wholeheartedly respect and support the notion and practice of an open-source universal encyclopaedic resource such as Wikipedia, it is not without structural flaws that allow for potentially damaging misrepresentation of information, through the inevitable subjectification of data. As with everything on the internet, there are grains of truth and elements of correctness regarding many pieces of information that are there, equally however, there are also outright erroneous statements and claims which I am tired of having to defend myself against time after time.
Despite the countless times I have tried to correct it, the hierarchical submission & modification system of Wikipedia makes it impossible to do so, wherein any corrections or modifications seem to magically revert back to their original incorrect form, often in under 24 hours. I have been misquoted & taken out of context so many times it doesn’t bear thinking about.. otherwise it makes you reluctant to do any interviews ever again!
The internet is similar to television (and all mass media) in this respect…just because the info is out there does not necessarily mean it is complete and correct, nor does it even mean that it is true.
On that note, there are a number of imposters posing as me with numerous “personal” websites, Facebook and Myspace pages; unauthorised, unendorsed and uninformed by myself, which is another aspect of misinformation I cannot do much about..unfortunately, there are negative sides to the informational democracy of the internet (which is a whole other debate we aren’t getting into now).
So unless it says Natacha Atlas Official, please ignore (or at least take with a large pinch of salt) what it may offer as truth, as it is mostly just hearsay, misquotes and Chinese whispers.

Incidentally, there was only one show booked in Israel, not a tour at all – more misinformation, what a surprise!
As I have previously stated, my motivations for initially accepting the booking were grounded in the best of intentions..whilst opinions are inevitably hugely divided regarding the whole subject of Palestine & Israel, I think it is safe to say that due to the enormous complexity of the situation, and the sheer diversity of vested interests for all parties concerned, that there are not going to be any simple, easy and neat solutions.
Given the conditions, I think it is obvious to all that any proposed solutions or courses of action while on the one hand might offer viable progress for some, will also incur the wrath and indignation of others.

However…somehow, we need to start somewhere. Mistrust being the order of the day for all sides, surely before some kind of level playing field can be established for fruitful negotiations to ensue, sincere gestures of goodwill and trust-establishment must take place on both sides. A REAL & genuine desire to reach solutions must be nurtured by all of us, starting on an individual level, reaching the highest echelons of power and influence.
In an ideal world.

Last time I checked, not so ideal…

We are all too often disappointed by how we are “represented” by politicians and people of power, for all too frequently, they fail to do just that…represent us.
I believe it is naive of us to not take into account the all-encompassing range of economic and financial motivations that govern these people’s decision-making processes, whatever the price and extent of short/mid/long-term damage that is inflicted on multiple peoples of the world as a result… so in my own way, I was merely attempting to contribute to making a start in the right direction.

Unfortunately, you can’t please everyone…so regardless of how altruistic one’s motivations may be, there will always be those who criticize and find fault with whatever path one follows..which is not to say that these ciriticisms are right or wrong, merely inevitable. Such is the range of opinions and ideological standpoints regarding a topic as complex as this.
For me, this situation serves perfectly as an analogy for the larger picture here…even on a level as basic (and arguably insignificant in the larger scheme of things) as a musical performance, the resultant fragmentation of opinion is so broad and varied as to make the finding of a universally satisfactory solution virtually impossible..
…sound familiar ?

To say no Arab plans to play in Israel is total nonsense. My good friend and colleague Muslim Algerian Mehdi Haddab (of the wonderful “Speed Caravan”) went to play in Israel AND Palestine not so long ago and sadly, BOTH shows were sabotaged and he was not able to complete his performances at either place. So even though his gesture of going to perform was well intentioned (although indubitably criticised by both sides for different yet similar reasons) it was sabotaged in any case. Similarly, Souad Massi was due to perform in Israel, and also eventually cancelled her performance due to the escalating political pressures.

As for my political views…you only have to read a few of my blogs on my official website to know how I feel about the state of the world… or just see my friend Peter Joseph’s film Zeitgeist:Addendum. A vast number of his views and ideologies are in accordance with my own. You can see it for free on Youtube. I thought I was going to get the opportunity to talk about Zeitgeist and Peter Joseph’s movement in Israel and if possible, talk to Palestinians about the movement too..
But as I have previously stated, after much deliberation (and hearing Mehdi’s story, among others), I knew that I was either going to be censored or sabotaged or both. Together with the hundreds of pleas for me to decline going, I simply could not ignore it.

As for the current Israeli regime, the one before and the one previous, well, they are all quite despicable.
And that goes for the whole world by the way. What, do you think the Israeli government are the only criminals in the world? The famous french philosopher Albert Camus said, and I quote, “Tout les etats son criminel” (All governments are criminal). And so we need to redesign our culture and our value system which is monetary based because all the world’s problems stem from this disease. And that is what i think. Emphatically.

So…Good night and good luck.

I woke up this morning like I do on many occasions in this century, around 6.30 am – distressed, depressed, perturbed, concerned, but still conscious of the state of our world, my head spinning with various useless ideas about what to do about it generally, because unless we, the general public, do this together on a massive scale (with together-ness), then all of our talk and pontificating is inert and inoperative…

Oh well, nothing much new with this particular morning then….so I decide to get out of bed and turn my computer on and search out some youtube clips of the late and beloved comedian George Carlin, who tells it like it is…and delivers wonderful humour with it to help you feel a little lighter about the shitty state of things on this dear planet of ours.

He said and I quote: ” I always question received reality, because the consensus reality is often intentionally misleading. The power does what it wants ..”

The US (and virtually the world) was bought and sold a long time ago and somehow we have all agreed that money, banks, a few inconceivably rich people and the corporate world should ultimately rule and enslave us all. And we think this is OK as long as we have reality TV, computers, mobile phones, designer wear, hardware, software, fast food…..oh no wait a minute, there’s organic food now….some of us are being fooled into thinking that organic food makes everything all right…even if you don’t change the rest of your world view and address your conditioning. And some of us in this bracket know that a third of the world can’t afford computers and software let alone organic food. So where am I going with this? I don’t really know, I am simply ranting and blogging because I can. And because my dear manager Lisa requests that I blog on this new website because otherwise she feels she has to do it for me. She is patient and good-natured! Bless her, and she still has faith in music and its place in the world, even if the music industry has been virtually destroyed by greedy idiots and bullshitters….oh well, we soldier on, eh…

If you can spare a moment have a look at George Carlin on youtube..he has some very wise and perceptive things to say about the world and how we live, and he will make you laugh… as long as we can still laugh then I believe there has to be hope as well, there just has to be…right?

And with that I will go about my day with these thoughts until this evening probably….and now it is evening so i will bid you……Good night and good luck.

Really excited to finally have my site up and running. Big thanks to my web designers at Brutus Digital on a great job.

Anyway, I hope everybody is having a great summer. Mine has been fairly hectic… although I did manage some down time over August after a very hectic June + July. Great time in the US and Canada in June, so thanks to all of you who came out to see me. Always great to see friendly faces in the audience.

Lots of great projects in the pipeline which I will share with you all soon. So next up? Well I am flying out to LA next week as I will be performing at the Zeitgeist Media Festival on Sunday September 11th. I think most of you know I am an avid supporter of Peter Joseph + The Zeitgeist Movement. I will be performing a short show with 2 of my UK musicians as well as Peter Joseph + Lili Haydn. Really excited and it will be a great day + night so please come along and say hello. The event is at the Music Box and will start @ 2pm – 10pm. Hoping the California summer sticks around for me too!

In other news——> September 27th is the US release date of “Mounqaliba-Rising; The Remixes” which is a collection of remixes of tracks from last year’s album ‘Mounqaliba’. Some great stuff on here and includes mixes by the legendary Cheb I Sabbah, David Starfire, Beats Antique and one of my very own which I did with my producer Samy Bishai. Very proud and it has a strong emotional connection for me too. Anyway think you will all love what the album has to offer – there really are some great versions on here.

Well….this was more of a ‘newsy’ blog – will follow up with more personal thoughts soon. Thanks for coming by and saying ‘hello’ on my new site.

Love Natacha xx

It’s around 2 in the morning, it’s another can’t sleep night… and I was thinking about the perpetual cycle of shit, doom and gloom we see on the news, and read in the papers… because of the perpetual cycle of useless consumption that more than half the worlds population are addicted to, and it broke my heart… because it seems that more and more… I quote “nous allons vers la mort” ( we are moving towards the death of human civilisation).

Paul, a retired builder said this as we were walking along the prettiest fields in Gascony. “Oh and don’t eat the dandelions this year”, he continued: “They did tests and found traces of radiation from Japan’s nuclear reactors fall out already, we were’nt expecting it until next week”, he said. “What? Already? All the way down here in South France?!! So, what can we eat from our fields this year?”, I asked. “Not much”, he said. “And this shit sticks around for 10,000 years, or so I have been informed”, he added. Needless to say I went home in a morbid state of anxiety that tends to linger around like luggage for days and days.

If you have children… how do you sleep at night? Actually, how the fuck does anyone sleep at night? There is no end to the threat of the falling economies around the world, no end to sickness and poverty, no end in sight to environmental disasters if we keep using highly dangerous materials to make energy.

Our current value system and culture is uncivilized and backwards – because it is a culture based on the monetary system. This system only really benefits the upper one percent, and the rest of us just get by in the hope that things will get better, or that we will get a raise… or a promotion, or win the lottery! So that we too can benefit like the elite upper one percent!

…A fools game don’t you think?

And of course all of the world’s greatest problems are monetary related… money equals: war, famine, illness, poverty, environmental disasters and, and, and, etc., etc… It continues and will continue as it has done for Eons, decades and centuries, whilst we perpetuate this sick system that does not – and cannot – work.

Ultimately we will be destroyed, because all it is… is an Addiction to Acquisition!! Think about it: whether it be an individual or a corporate entity, the result is the same. We need a new system, to quote my friend Peter Joseph and the Zeitgeist movement and Venus project: “…a redesign of culture where we declare all the world’s resources the common heritage of man.”

To be truly economic and scientific, we need to be referencing natural law.
At the moment within the profit-driven monetary system, there is a block on real scientific advancements that would benefit the planet as a whole, because there are no incentives to solve any profitable problems – so the cycle of shit continues.

We need to talk about these things every day, teach our children, tell our friends, families and neighbours that there could be another way forward,
it is not a given yet, but truly, there could be another way… I said this in mine and Samy’s recent video ‘Egypt rise to Freedom’
and I’ll say it again… Through unity all things are possible”
goodnight and good luck!
